Japanese language lesson through recipe and cooking

This course is designed for those who want to learn Japanese through Japanese cooking classes. We will learn vocabulary and grammar through recipes and use in the cooking lessons.

Online lessons are conducted using Zoom. Please download Zoom app to your mobile phone or computer before participating.

The level of Japanese to attend cooking lessons

I expect you to read Hiragana at least, ideally Katanaka as well to join the cooking classes. We will use a recipes and vocabularies list in Japanese I created. I referred Genki 1 and 2 textbook. But if you are completely Beginner and still not to be able to read Japanese alphabet, don’t worry! I can do lesson privately for you! Feel free to contact me to discuss about it!

Kabocha bread

I created vegan version of pumpkin bread! You can learn how to make bread without kneading and cute pumpkin shape! It’s healthy but also very satisfaction bread!

Gyoza

Gyoza is originally Chinese food but a lot of Japanese people make it at home! I will introduce tasty but healthy and easy way to make ingredients of gyoza. Also you can learn how to make gyoza cooked crispy but still juicy in side.

Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki which is known as Japanese savory pancake. We will learn how to make it delicious and creamy while keeping it healthy, we’ll be using a secret ingredient—so look forward to it!

Onigirazu

This is a type of sandwich made of sushi rice and seasoned vegetables and a little spicy tofu with avocado.

The way to wrap ingredients is key point! It will be healthy grab and go food, picnic food, and break fast.

Yasai bukkake soba

This is soba which is known as buck wheat noodles in English.

With the soba we you will learn hot to make a crispy well seasoned egg plant, grated Chinese radish, tasty soba soup.

It will be nice summer refresh lunch or dinner and also it’s super nutritious.

Fruits daifuku

This is mochi with fruits and ice cream. In Japan, there is a ice cream called “Yukimi daifuku”.

I add fruits in it and it will be very pretty when you cut in half. You will learn how to make perfect mochi with only microwave! And how to handle mochi without any hassle.

It will be a great party dessert and also it’s healthy and low calories!

Hand made udon noodle making

Udon is type of Japanese noodles made from wheat flour! Did you know you can make it at home very easy and only 2 ingredients? Also you can learn how to make authentic Japanese broth easily and effectively.

Satsumaimo gozen

If you love sweet potato, this is your go-to recipe! “Satsumaimo” means sweet potato, “Gozen” means traditional meal set. You will learn how to make authentic miso soup and rice ball but also we will make cute sweet dumplings!

Tan tan men

Tan tan men is originally Chinese dishes but now it’s very common dish in Japanese home cooking! I created this recipe for people who are seeking high protein and tasty recipe. I will introduce how you can make texture of tofu more chewy and meaty.

Do you prefer in person class?

I can only provide in person cooking lesson at your place. If you want to do in person class at your place, please contact me! Also, I got a certification SERV safe Food protection Manager in November 4th 2024.

Cancellation Policy

1 WEEK NOTICE: Full refund or future class credit.

48 HOURS NOTICE: You may give your seat to someone to attend in your place, but no credit will be given. Please just have your stand-in give your name at the door.

24 HOURS NOTICE: No refund or credit will be given. Please remember that the classes are events like a concert or a play, not an appointment to be rescheduled.
